Back in 1990 the Thalion/Eclipse game "Wings of Death" made huge waves; finally an ST shooter worth it's name!
Created by demosceners from Gigabyte Crew, Exceptions and Carebears it features loads of sprites, great music, graphics and for once, awesome gameplay.

Songbird Productions, known for releasing Jaguar and Lynx games, recently posted a teaser of Wings of Death for the Jaguar, aimed to be released in 2025. While we have seen many ST games being ported over to Jaguar more or less 1:1 by third parties, the Wings of Death port is actually made by Eclipse and does add some improvements over the original;
- Dual soundtracks (ST and Amiga versions)
- Additional setting for difficulty
- Mode with increased colours on screen
- 60 Hz screen updates
- Extra weapon power ups and additional sound effects

Wings of Death for the Jaguar
We're just wrapping up our release candidate testing and everything is looking solid. Pre-production is already underway, with layouts being made for the printers and masters provided for the factory-pressed audio CD soundtrack too!
Wings of Death is a cartridge game for the Atari Jaguar. The game has been remastered specifically for the Jaguar by the original developer, Eclipse Software. Features for this version include:
Frame rate boost from 20fps to 60fps
Enhanced color mode (up to 3x more colors!)
EEPROM high score support
Multiple difficulty modes
Original ST and Amiga soundtracks
Factory-pressed remix CD soundtrack which works as a regular audio CD or as a soundtrack detected by your Jaguar CD unit!
There will be two options for Jaguar fans:
Limited Edition ($129.95 / 50 units) - Clear shell cartridge with 1ST RUN on sticker and box, plus your name displayed on the Superfan page of the manual. Includes CD soundtrack.
Standard Edition ($99.95 / 250 units) - Black shell cartridge with 1ST RUN on sticker and box. Includes CD soundtrack.
Once we sell through the 1ST RUN, future printings will have RETRO displayed instead. Also note the CD soundtrack is guaranteed for the 1ST RUN, then while supplies last after that.
