Back in July 2024 at the Sommarhack party, Cream released a massive music demo for ST; playing lots and lots of classic C64 music files on the YM-chip using their very impressive music driver that simulates almost everything the SID-chip can do (apart from filters).  The demo then had several parts and even a complete version of the C64 basic ported to 68000 (yes, not emulated).

Fast forward one and half year, and the music from the demo have been transformed into SNDH-files that can easily be played stand alone on your ST: STay4Evr::SNDH Files

As a bonus, Cream have also thrown in all music files without their advanced music driver, playing them on the YM without timer interrupts. It's fun to compare the non-timer versions with the ones made in the 80's. Even with the same level of limitations there's a big improvement.

As if that wasn't enough, there's a second bonus; a demo to present the SNDH-pack!  Featuring effects from the mythical Heftig demo that was seen already back at Error In Line 1999, still looking spendid!

Loving the intro!

When is Cream finally going to get 'Heftig' into something final?

If they're picking at previously completed but almost forgotten/discarded effects? What kind of coding witchcraft could they feature in a finalized 'Heftig'?

Well I had published a video about lost bits for my Democyclopedia article about "unreleased prods" but Ultra/Cream wasn't too happy so that I had to remove the video. Too bad as it featured some impressive 3D scenes that looked like they were planned for Falcon.

Glad to see that some effects have made it in this great demo packed with a lot of nice colourful stuff! At some point I thought this was the so long dreamed of port of "18" from the Amiga. https://demozoo.org/productions/65469/

I am happy that you like and mention the timerless versions, Evil. In fact they are a my little highlight in the project as they show the skills and creativity of the guys in the old days. I really do enjoy listening to them :)

Hi Tao, Hi Ultra :)

I was meaning to drop you a message after you dropped the original Stay4Evr but something happened can't remember (maybe your creamhq emails bounced?).

Either way - love that demo and the music so so much and this is the icing on the cake! There's so many unusual tones, and the tunes themselves are so creative as you say.
